Short Biography:

  • Dr. Akshay Garg is a double board-certified, fellowship-trained, Interventional Pain Medicine physician skilled in the management of a wide range of conditions including musculoskeletal pain of the back, neck, and joints, neuropathic disorders, and cancer-related pain. He is adept in utilizing both fluoroscopy and ultrasound image guidance to safely and effectively perform a variety of advanced interventions, including spine and joint injections, regenerative therapy, and neuromodulation.
  • Originally from Washington D.C., Dr. Garg completed his undergraduate and medical school training as a part of the highly selective seven-year dual B.A./M.D. program at The George Washington University School of Medicine. He went on to the Mount Sinai St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center for an internship and stayed in New York City to complete his residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Mount Sinai Hospital. He served as Chief Resident during his final year.
  • Dr. Garg subsequently completed a highly competitive ACGME-accredited Interventional Pain Medicine fellowship at the Weill Cornell Tri-Institutional Pain Medicine Program. His rigorous training was centered at three prestigious New York institutions: The New York-Presbyterian Hospital, The Hospital for Special Surgery, and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
  • He is double board-certified in both Pain Medicine and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
