Short Biography:

  • Dr. Richard Zhu is an anesthesiologist specializing in Interventional Pain Medicine. He is skilled in the diagnosis and treatment of chronic pain conditions including joint pain, headache, degenerative disc disease, neuropathic pain, and complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS). He has a special interest in interventional treatments for cancer-related pain.
  • Dr. Zhu completed his undergraduate training at Duke University, where he majored in Biology with a concentration in Neuroscience. He obtained his M.D. at the University of Maryland and completed his Anesthesiology Residency at Yale School of Medicine. This was followed by additional fellowship training in Pain Medicine at the Cornell Tri-Institute, which combines training at NY Presbyterian-Weill Cornell, Hospital for Special Surgery, and Memorial Sloan Kettering.
  • Dr. Zhu believes in a multidisciplinary approach to patient care with the capability to offer the most cutting-edge therapies. This may include spinal cord stimulation, ketamine infusions, radiofrequency ablation, and even regenerative medicine like PRP or stem cell therapy.
